One of my favorite books is Chicken Soup for the Preteen Soul.

Things I like about this book are that at the end of each story they leave their full name.The second thing I like about this is that all the stories are true.The there is a variety of topics like:Acheving Dreams,On friendship ,On Family,On Death or Dying and Overcomming obstacles. This book is really important to me because my family gave it to me. I can relate to the category Death or Dying because when my cousin was nine he died. So I was very sad because he was the same age as me and my family was just at his house for supper that night. The stories in this book from that help me to keep going. I feel like if I do not finish reading a story that I will not find out what happens in the end. I might not go back to that story because I will not remember the beginning and have to reread it.

Movies

My favorite type of movie is musicals. The musicals I have seen are Annie, Grease, Wizard of Oz, and Hairspray. My favorite movie is Grease. I like it because it is a funny movie and it tells a nice story. I also like the actors in the movie such as John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John. My favorite part of the movie is the carnaval because they all meet up and sing, my favorite song, “We Go Together”. In fact I take dance classes as I said before in another blog and last year we did a dance to that song. I do think that Mrs Theriault should  have the right to censor.  Because if we put something personal on the website and then someone put in the web-address Allthingsquebec  and then went on to Mia’s blog they could find out my first name my birthdate and all the things that I would have put on.So I think that it is a good  idea that there are certain restrictions.  We  should not put inappropriate things.  Or talk about things that might offend people from another  religion.

I would not put something that would  offend another religion.So I would like my blog to be a role  model to the people that might but this on their blog.

This is a recipe for Shortbread cookies with sprinkles on top. There are usually green or red sprinkles on top.  So you can guess what season it is for – Christmas!! What I love the most about shortbread cookies are that when you put them on your tongue and you suck on it – it melts in your mouth. It tastes so good and so smooth and creamy.

During the month of October our family and friends all gather together and make our Halloween haunted house.  We have been doing this for three years.   We started doing this because my brother had a type of blood cancer called Leukemia. Our family pediatrician’s husband had been doing the haunted house for a long time before that. When he heard that my brother had cancer he decided that he would do it at  my house to help him feel happy even though he could not go trick or treating.

The first year we made a tunnel, the second year we made a spaceship crashing into a graveyard and this year our theme is spooky clowns. This year we bought some of the clown decorations in Lake George.  For three hours I sat in the back of my mini van  with a skeleton and scarey clown looking at me.  I was scared even in broad daylight.

I love the time of Halloween because I get to go trick or treating and I also love it because I get to help my friends and make a big scarey haunted house.   This is so much fun since so many people come and see it.

This is my vacation to the Dominican  Republic. When I woke up the morning before I left to go on vacation I was so excited because I have never been there. The places I have been are Mexico about seven times,Jamaica and the Dominican Republic once.  These are some of the things that I did on vacation:The first thing that I did was to go get my luggage.  thing I did was go to my room. The third thing I did was go to  get drinks then, we went back to the room and got into are bathing suits.After that I went to the pool with my dad,my brother my friend and her father . After a swim in the pool and a swim in the ocean we went for supper.

The morning after we arrived the mother’s went to an information group  that talked about all the different activities.The boys were most interested in the dune buggy adventure.They decided to sign up for this activity. The thing that they did not know was that it was going to rain for three days before that so when they go to a big hill that they had to go up and it was not funny. By the time they got there  they were covered in mud. While they were doing that the children went to the kids club.We were supposed to paint rocks but the animaters did not have any rocks so we had to paint on pieces of coloured paper. … continue reading this entry.

The sport I do is dance. It is an organized activity that I do at a dance school called Cameron School of Dance. I do this activity every Sunday at 2:00pm. The type of dance I do is Musical Theater.

I do not think that dance or any sport is a right, I think that it is a privilege. Because there are many reasons that it is not a right. First because you might not have enough money, second you might not be good at it. Or maybe they just do not like it. … continue reading this entry.

I am going to talk to you about girl named Choon-yi that does not have much money.So for a living she does paintings I think that she is a happy girl because of the pictures she paints are very beautiful and look and look fun and happy.(pg5)

The way that I think Choon-yi grows up is that when she was young she was more care free.(pg6)

When she was young she get’s on the ship to North America she is growing up.(pg6)The first challenge she has to face is that when she get’s to the post office and the post officer tells her that her father was killed last week.(pg6)

The second challenge she has to face she has to ride a big,loud and smokey trainfor the fist time by herself.(pg7)That goes to show the bonnd between herself and her fatherthat is when she is asked to do somethingfrom her father  that it is donne rightaway.(pg7)

I think that at every  train stop I would not have gonne off the train because I would not know where to go. (pg7)

I have never rode a train because so I would have been more scared in broud daylight.

I don’t think I would have been able to fall asleep on a train.(pg8)I think if Isaw my painting being put to the sky I would have mixed fealings because I would have been happy because I was helping my dad.But sad because I was destroying my painting.(pg8)

On the  last page of the story we find out  why the story is called Ghost Train It  is because when Choon-yi walks through the train sheshe does not see people she see’s spirits that have torn clothes and that are coverd in blood .(pg11)If I were Choon-yi I would have been scared to see spirits not people.(pg11)The person I connect Choon-yi to is Parvana. Because Choon-yi is exactly like Parvanan because in the  way that I think that she has a very strong bond between her father in both of the stories. Like in Parvana she goes to work with her father and in  Ghost Train she goes to North America to she her father. In the story of Ghost Train she Choon-yi’s father was killed so Choon-yi was sad and in Parvana her father was saint to jail. … continue reading this entry.
